Tips for Photo Session with Fearfully & Wonderfully Photographed
1. Dress Comfortably & Confidently
Wear something that makes you feel like you. If you’re comfy and confident, it shows in the photos! Choose outfits you can move in, and avoid super busy patterns or large logos.
Bonus: Neutrals, earthy tones, or soft pastels photograph beautifully outdoors!
2. Plan Ahead (Especially for Little Ones!)
Give yourself extra time before the session so you’re not rushing. If you’ve got kids, bring snacks, a favorite toy, or something to keep them smiling—happy chaos is always welcome here.
3. It Doesn’t Have to Be Perfect
Real moments > perfect poses. I’ll guide you gently, but I love capturing the in-betweens—the giggles, the snuggles, the real connection. Just come ready to relax and have fun.
4. Bring a Few Personal Touches
Want to include a meaningful item (like a blanket, book, or heirloom)? Go for it! It adds a unique and personal feel to your photos.
5. Hydrate & Rest Up
Sounds simple, but it makes a difference—especially for little ones (and mamas!). Rested, hydrated faces = glowing faces.
6. Trust the Process
You don’t need to know how to pose—that’s my job. Just bring your beautiful self and let me take care of the rest. You are fearfully and wonderfully photographed, remember?
7. Let the Kids Be Kids
Please don’t stress if your little ones are wiggly, shy, or silly—it’s all part of the magic. We’ll follow their lead and make it fun! Some of the best photos happen when they’re just being themselves.
8. Don’t Worry About the Weather
If the forecast looks a bit gloomy, don’t panic! Cloudy days can create dreamy, soft light. And if we need to reschedule due to heavy rain, I’ve got you covered.
9. Hair & Makeup Tips
If you’re planning to do makeup, go for a little more than your everyday look—natural, but polished. If you’re doing your hair, soft waves or styles with movement look beautiful on camera.
Pro tip: Consider a trial run if you’re trying a new look!
10. Leave Your Phone Behind (or on Silent)
Let this be a time to unplug and be present. The less distraction, the more genuine connection we can capture.
11. Shoes Matter… But Sometimes They Don’t
If we’re outdoors, think about where we’ll be walking—comfy shoes might be your best friend (and hey, barefoot is totally welcome too, especially for kids or beachy shoots).
12. Trust Your Photographer
You hired me for a reason, and I’m so honored to capture this part of your story. Trust me to guide, direct, and document the beauty in between the posed moments.
13. Bring a Blanket (Optional but Handy!)
Especially for outdoor or family sessions, a cozy, neutral blanket can be a lifesaver for sitting shots—and adds a beautiful, homey touch.
14. Eat Before You Come
No one enjoys a photo session when they’re “hangry.” A quick bite beforehand can keep everyone energized, especially kids and partners.
15. Have Fun With It!
Laugh, dance, cuddle, tickle, spin—this is about you. The more playful and relaxed you are, the more natural your photos will feel.
